About Us
The shop is owned by Chris and Ron Diamond. They first opened a gift shop in 1993 in their 1816 home in Vermont. The couple later moved to Frederick, MD and established another shop. In August of 2013 they moved again to Delaware where Daylilies at Grey House is currently located. The shop was opened in an “old“ shed in 2017.
A new building was completed in February of 2023 which features a warm, inviting, comfortable interior that is located in front of a large daylily field. To make the most of this abundance of gorgeous blooms, daylily plants are for sale in addition to our seasonal handcrafted gifts and primitive country decor.

Chris worked as an interior designer at a large local furniture store. When sales reps came in to purge discontinued fabrics, they would be discarded. As a seamstress, she couldn’t let them stay in the trash.
When the furniture store closed during COVID, she made masks out of her stash of cotton fabric. It also allowed Chris the opportunity to create patterns and one-of-a-kind gift items out of the discarded upholstery fabric. She made whales, crabs, horseshoe crabs, starfish, seahorses, stingrays, and other sea creatures. Once COVID restrictions eased and Chris retired, she and Ron spent 2022 doing numerous craft shows.
In 2023, Chris decided to focus more on our gift shop and sell our products online. We are genuinely passionate about what we offer and look forward to sharing that love with our customers.
